Being that Korean gamers have been grinding on Aion for almost a year it was no surprise that the North American launch went so smooth, at least when compared with other recent mmo launches *cough* AOC *cough*. The only real issue that arose were the queue times with some people reporting five hour wait [...]

For the longest time StarDock was known for their myriad Windows GUI tweak utilities, then in February of 2008 they dropped “Sins of a Solar Empire” which IMHO is one of the best RTS games ever made, and although Sins didn’t get the hype it deserved at launch it [...]

Valve has recently released a demo to those people who pre-ordered the full version of Left 4 Dead. I would like to comment briefly on why that concept negates the entire reason demos are released in the first place. They should call it a “preview” or a “teaser”, anything but a demo. [...]

So my friend Opi8 told about this game called Mass Effect. I should have known better than to try it out, as Opi8 is the one who got me hooked on MMORPG’s back in the day. I hold him personally responsible for my lack of a life. I ended up spending the last 5-6 days playing this [...]

In a market saturated with $600 video cards and 14 gigabyte downloads DEFCON is a shining example that you don’t need a $2,000 gaming rig to have fun with PC gaming. Coming in at a whopping 60mb, DEFCON’s GUI is reminiscent of the Atari 2600 days.
I’m sure everyone remembers the classic flick ‘War Games’. [...]

While the gold release for AOC still suffers from several minor issues it is still insanely fun in comparison to other mmo’s. Memory leaks, bugged quests, and broken auction house aside, this game has the potential to draw in a big crowd. I hope people will look past the name, I haven’t [...]

If you’re into pc gaming you’ve heard of Age of Conan. And thanks to FuncCom lifting their Non Disclosure Agreement, now we can talk about it. It’s been getting alot of ink…err pixels, dedicated to it lately. My good friend tact ensured I got my beta key a week or so [...]

It is an extremely rare occasion that I play an RTS or a 4x video game. I find them to be boring and repetitive.
The last RTS I played of any quality was Homeworld and it’s follow-up Homeworld Cataclysm which was at least 10 years ago. Tact suggested SOASE so I gave it a [...]

I had a small but growing addiction for the popular MMORPG WoW (see 4 posts down.) Then one day an online pusher by the name of Opi8 approached me with a 7 day free trial for LOTRO. “Don’t worry it’s [...]

For almost half a decade the brand name Call of Duty has been synonymous with good gaming. Great graphics and intense single player action earned COD it’s street cred back in 03′ and it’s 2nd release, COD2, followed up with even better game play and graphics. COD3 only dished out more of the [...]

Why on earth would someone blog about a game that is almost a decade old? Tribes really is the reason I am what I am today. Before Tribes there was nothing. Tribes popped my pc gaming cherry back in 98′ and I am still playing it today. It is the reason I [...]

Back in 2004 a company named Crytek dropped a bomb on the fps community. FarCry was graphically superior to anything of that era thanks to the CryEngine. Now Crytek is back with CryEngine2, with Crysis being it’s first game to make use of this absolutely gorgeous game engine.

The FPS genre is undoubtedly king of the hill when it comes to pc gaming. A tried and true formula has been applied to an array of fps releases for the last 10 years which keeps everyone coming back for bigger bosses, newer weapons, and more frags. As [...]
